We’ve been starting the year releasing some new features and improvements to mod.io, starting as promised with Switch 2 support coming to the mod.io SDK. We’ve also deployed a series of improvements for game admins, from a new search function in your dashboards to new moderation options. All the details of our latest releases and future developments below!

Latest releases
C++ SDK
Switch 2 support is now available in our SDK, with full integration in our plugins coming soon.
Unity Plugin 2026.1
Released a series of improvements to our Unity plugin, including support for Collections in Template UI, USD Marketplace support, Xbox Cloud Sync for mod information, Epic SSO support as well as a series of bug fixes. Details in the github release.
Unreal Plugin 2026.2 & 3
A series of smaller updaters for our Unreal plugin as we prepare for Unreal Engine 5.7 support. See details on github.
New Curation Options: Collections & Mods
Game admins can now toggle curation of mods and collections separately, allowing, for example, to have mods requiring approval before going live, but collections to be free to share (or the other way around). Previously, curation was activated both for mods & collections together.

Admin Tools Search
There is a new Search bar on the top right of your admin dashboards on mod.io, allowing game admins and mod admins to easily find the right functionalities or setting pages and head directly towards them!

New User Moderation option: submit reports
It’s now possible for game admins to revoke the ability for a user to submit reports. A good tool to deal with users intentionally using the report system to spam or harass other users.
Marketplace & Cloud Cooking support for Embed Hub
We’ve released a big chunk of work adding support for both our Marketplace and Cloud Cooking functionalities to the Embed Hub, our solution to build your UGC interface in our ecosystem. Learn more in our documentation.
As always, you can find the latest in our changelog on Discord or by keeping up with our GitHub repositories and documentation.
Upcoming releases and improvements
New Notifications System
Late last year, we started work on a new notification system. At its core, we’re consolidating pre-existing notifications in a smarter system that will allow us to fetch dynamically generated notifications. This will establish a cleaner and more reliable notification system, and allow us to give more ability for users to customize and aggregate their notifications to match their needs and preferences.
It’s a system we’re excited to update as it’s been an important source of feedback from modders and creators. Work is already on-going for our backend team to establish the infrastructure to support the functionality, and we’re expecting the new functionality to be deployed by the end of Q1.
Creator Dashboard
We’ve started design work on an exciting update of the mod.io dashboards for mods & UGC creators. Our ambition is to deliver a new powerful dashboard allowing creators to monitor all of their content, statistics & moderation functionalities from a single place rather than having to manually check the dashboards for each of their individual mods.
We’re planning to gather feedback from creators through our Verified Creators community in the upcoming weeks to refine our design and start development for a release in a few months.
