Dev Update: Switch 2, Template UI, Marketplace integration live
The latest from mod.io, with Switch 2 support now available in all our plugins, and the first games live with our UGC Marketplace solution.
It’s been an, as always, busy couple of months at mod.io; and we have a series of new features and improvements released over the past couple of weeks to put under the limelight.
Most excitingly, we’ve had two games going live with our marketplace solution for UGC monetization, and more in the pipeline for the upcoming months. It’s a major milestone for us, and a lot of joy to now be working with real data & cases after a few years of refining our solution behind the scenes. Things are ramping up smoothly and we’ll soon have more to share!
On top of that, we’ve got a proud display of updates; some were eagerly awaited by studios, like Switch 2 support now readily available in all our plugins. Others are improvements creators have been vocally asking for and we’re delighted to deliver like a full review of our notifications sytem, and the upcoming shiny dedicated Creator Dasbhoard. And the rest are as always improvements to our toolkit to make it ever easier for developers to efficiently and smoothly integrate mod & UGC support in their game, whether it’s with a better Template UI for Unity, or a new way to provide mod support using mutators for Unreal Engine.
New features & improvements
mod.io Marketplace improvments
As we were working on the launch for the first couple of titles using our marketplace monetization solution (yes, that’s you BMX Streets and Legion TD2! 💙), we’ve deployed a series of updates related to the marketplace.
- Added visual labels on monetized content, both for players and admin to more easily identify monetized and purchased content
- Improved the content submission flow for creators submitting content for monetization
- Released improvements to our monetization dashboards (still on-going!)

You can expect to see more improvements coming to our marketplace solutions at a rapid cadence over the next few months, as more titles are planning to go live. If you’re interested in UGC monetization, we’ll have data and insights for our games live to share, so get in touch with our team!
Top Creators highlights
As part of our efforts to showcase the work of creators, and better highlight their profiles, we’ve rolled out new creator badges for top creators. This has gone through a few iterations last month, thanks to the super valuable feedback of creators in our Discord community!

New Design for Mod Collections
We shipped a new layout and design for mod collections, bringing more focus to the list of mods. We’ve brought numerous improvements to mod collections based on mod creators feedback over the past year, and we’re excited as we have a few titles for planning for in-game integration now.

New Notifications System rolling out
The first elements of our new notifications system have been deployed with a new more granular notifications settings page. The full new more robust and flexible notifications system will be deployed over the upcoming weeks. A constant request from mod creators that we’re glad we’re addressing!

First look at Creator Dashboard
Development has started on the new Creator Dashboard page which will allow creators to easily monitor the activity across all of their content on mod.io, from overseeing player activity to reading and answering comments, resolving “not working” reports, and more.

You can get a sneak peak at the interactive mockup done by our Design team for an early look. We’ve received useful feedback and input from our Verified Creators that helped finalize something we know will be hugely useful for all creators!
